The light is red. The person is too.
They imitate each other, static, waiting for which of the two will change their minds first.
As the idea of waiting germinates within the person, so does the desire to light a cigarette.
Meanwhile, the traffic light, anchored in the present moment, remains static.
The person lights a cigarette, thus camouflaging the anxiety caused by the idea of waiting.
He wants to be on the other side of the pavement.
He feels uncomfortable where he is now.
He feels uncomfortable in his body.
He feels uncomfortable in his life.
The traffic light changes. Give permission. He can now cross.
But the person does not see it, because his mental television is in prime time and he has been hypnotized.
A sudden cough momentarily wakes him up.
The traffic light is red again.
"I live waiting", the person says to himself, feeding the smoke of his inner fog.
The traffic light is just where it is.
